Hailing from the Mississippi Delta, Annie & The Caldwells serve up such a bubbling cocktail of soul, funk, gospel and blues that it’s nearly impossible to experience it sitting down. Their music radiates joy, groove and deep-rooted tradition in equal measure.

Lead vocalist Annie Caldwell has masterfully blended family and career. For her, family is the band: her husband plays guitar, her daughters deliver rich vocal harmonies, and her sons hold down the groove in the rhythm section. In this family, American roots music isn’t just a passion – it’s part of their shared DNA.

Last year, Annie & The Caldwells released their acclaimed album “Can’t Lose My (Soul)”, earning widespread praise. Their performance at the Flow Festival was met with an ecstatic reception, further cementing their reputation as a must-see live act. This summer, before arriving at Kirjurinluoto, the family band will take the stage at major events including Denmark’s Roskilde Festival.
