Impressive soul and jazz singer Lady Blackbird comes to Helsinki in April

The charismatic and intense soul singer Lady Blackbird is coming to Finland in the spring and will perform at a concert organized by Live Nation Finland at Helsinki’s Kulttuuritalo on Thursday, April 23, 2026. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, October 31, at 10 a.m. at Lippu.fi.

Lady Blackbird (Marley Munroe), who impressed audiences last summer on the main stage at Pori Jazz, is one of the most distinctive new voices in jazz and soul. The American artist’s music combines elements of jazz, classic soul, gospel, psychedelic rock, and pop in a way that makes her voice instantly recognizable.

The artist rose to international fame with her acclaimed debut album Black Acid Soul (2021), which The Guardian described as ”deeply searing and timeless.” The album earned her the Jazz FM Awards’ ”International Artist of the Year” award and cemented her position among the brightest new names in soul music.

The new album Slang Spirituals (September 13, 2024, BMG) continues Lady Blackbird’s journey toward freedom and self-expression. Songs such as ”Let Not (Your Heart Be Troubled)” and ”Man On A Boat” radiate both vulnerability and strength. Created in collaboration with producer Chris Seefried, the album combines soulfulness, gospel, and psychedelic soul sounds with deeply personal themes.

“This is my journey of becoming – from being labeled a sinner to finding my acceptance,” Lady Blackbird has said.

Lady Blackbird’s performances from London to Los Angeles have garnered praise, and her fans include Chaka Khan and Taylor Swift. The Kulttuuritalo concert offers a unique opportunity to experience this charismatic singer in an intimate and impressive setting.

Lady Blackbird has previously performed twice in Finland, at Pori Jazz in 2022 and 2025.
