Pori Jazz has announced nine additions to this summer’s festival programming.
On Thursday, July 14th Pori Jazz will feature the rising country and soul music artist Yola, R&B visionary Tinashe, vibraphonist Joel Ross, Tuareg blues band Mdou Moctar and the up-and-coming singer Lady Blackbird. Juhani Aaltonen, a living legend of Finnish jazz, will be celebrated with a special concert in which he will perform together with some of his closest musical collaborators such as Heikki Sarmanto, Iro Haarla ja Raoul Björkenheim.
The programme on Saturday, July 16th is complemented by Chisu, one of Finland's brightest pop stars, Gretchen Parlato, a jazz singer performing in Finland for the first time, and Nate Smith, one of today's most respected drummers, together with his band Kinfolk.
Previously announced performers for Pori Jazz 2022 include John Legend, Simply Red, Lewis Capaldi, Emeli Sandé, Charles Lloyd featuring Bill Frisell, and Thundercat, among others.
Pori Jazz will be held for the 55th time between 8th and 16th of July. Numerous new names will be added to the festival programme during the spring. In addition to the ticketed main concerts, Pori Jazz will offer a wide range of free-admission programming.
Daily tickets to the Pori Jazz main concerts (July 14 through 16) are on sale for a special price when S-Etukortti is presented upon purchase. The special price is available until April 15th or as long as the limited quota lasts.
Multi-day tickets are also available, and for a premium festival experience, there are tickets gaining entry to the Pori Jazz Lounge and VIP areas. All tickets are sold through Ticketmaster Finland.
