Nordic jazz with folk music influence

Founded at the Jyväskylä Conservatory in 2002, this quartet plays contemporary jazz with a distinctly Nordic feel to it. A lot of their inspiration comes from Finnish folk music and you can hear it in the beautiful melodies sung by Aili Ikonen. They won the Young Nordic Jazz Comets competition in 2004 and have since done two albums: Kvalda and Leia. They have performed on several jazz festivals in many European countries.
