Trumpeter Yazz Ahmed is one of those interesting musicians who’ve turned London into the centre of current modern jazz. Her 2017 critically acclaimed album La Saboteuse combined several genres as is customary nowadays. Born in Bahrain but raised in Great Britain since nine years old, Ahmed uses Arabic influences and adds flavours from modern electronic music as well as alternative rock. Playing trumpet and flugelhorn in wide musical circles way beyond jazz scene has enabled her to mix and match genres and collaborate with artists such as Radiohead. Their song Bloom is on La Saboteuse album.
