The jouhikko is an ancient string instrument, a bowed lyre indigenous to Finland which Pekko Käppi has turned into a relevant, modern and exciting tool of expression. With folk music and blues as his original building blocks, the man determinedly adds new elements to his oeuvre. Backed by four-man strong band K:H:H:L, rock seems to be the order of the day. The new strong tunes on their current third album Väärä laulu (The Wrong Song) are bound to help Käppi in reaching new listeners and widening his fanbase.
