It’s obvious that Kaisa Mäensivu will be among the important Finnish jazz artists of tomorrow. She enrolled in the Sibelius Academy but later headed to and settled in New York. As a double bassist, she is among the pioneers since the world of jazz is still very masculine. Her debut album, titled in the Key of K and featuring Kaisa’s Machine, was a mature presentation of modern Jazz and the band’s seamless teamwork. Kaisa’s Machine comprises of drummer Jonatan Sarikoski, saxophonist Max Zenger, and pianist Mikael Myrskog.
